I feel the same way you do.
I LOVE...Hey Michelle!

I feel the same way you do.
I LOVE Ning! I remember when I was first introduced to it, about a year and half ago now, and how amazing it was that I was not only being allowed to actively incorporate the internet into my studies, but that my professors were giving me the opportunity to do so--to engage with themselves and my classmates. Revolutionary!

It's a wonderful tool and I can't believe that it's no longer going to be free for our educational enhancement.

Major fail!

I appreciate your post about this because it's definitely something educators and students alike should indeed be privy to and how our resources are being taken away. Not cool!

I'm disgruntled, but (also like you) trying to remain hopeful that something better will come along--something more in-tune with the way we share information.

*sigh*
I digress.

Thanks a bunch,
ChelseaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070053904538802680.post-47563472044882656032010-04-23T04:59:07.238-07:002010-04-23T04:59:07.238-07:00Thanks a lot for the websites I found another ning...Thanks a lot for the websites I found another ning alternative here since Ning became paid listing alternatives should help some people out.Jest Staffelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10689948277374125056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070053904538802680.post-526309052185526272010-04-19T13:20:51.298-07:002010-04-19T13:20:51.298-07:00I feel your pain and wish I had an answer for you....I feel your pain and wish I had an answer for you. Ning's move is prodding a lot of educators to reevaluate our time investments in "free" resources. I can't recommend any alternatives, personally, but here is an article from mashable.com that was shared with me today that suggests a few you could consider (whether or not they'll move to "paid" services too remains to be seen).

http://mashable.com/2010/04/18/ning-alternatives/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00741293307003893760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070053904538802680.post-34460994709641161282010-04-19T13:15:02.782-07:002010-04-19T13:15:02.782-07:00I am heading to a workshop tonighton intergrating ...I am heading to a workshop tonighton intergrating Ning & other social networks into Blackboard 9. I set up my Ning Network to prepare for my first online course. It appears my timing is poor. I am uncertain on whether to invest anymore into this product if my students are not going to get free access. Perhaps I should invest my time in another similar platform? But is there one?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
