Michelle Pacansky-Brock has experience as a community college professor and university management experience. She has a specialized interest in creatively engaging students through web-enhanced learning and cultivating high quality online courses through personalized, community-oriented learning . She has presented at regional, national and international conferences for online learning and educational innovation and has been a featured presenter in the Educause Learning Initiative webinar series. In 2007 she was honored with the national Sloan-C Excellence in Online Teaching Award and the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award. Michelle Macfarlane has experience as a community college professor where she has been an active academic senator and involved in many facets of shared-governance. Her contributions to students and colleagues was recognized by the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges in 2006 when she was selected to received the Hayward Award for Excellence in Education. Her interests include building community in online learning environments as well as using student created content as a tool for enhancing engagement.
